Kroupa had a little bit of size to him, but he was best known for being extremely skilled offensively. He could move the
puck and had a cannon shot from the point.

However, he struggled to find a place in the North American game. Despite having size, he didn't really use it that
much, a must-do with the rugged North American game. He also could not get used to playing a longer schedule.

Thus, while with both the Sharks and the Devils, he kept alternating between the NHL and the minors.

In his later seasons on this side of the Atlantic, though, he did use the time in the minors to refine his game. Then the
first opportunity he got, he returned to Europe. He played his first season back in Germany, then moved on to his
homeland and had played in the Czech League, predominantly for Litvinov, for the rest of his career, which ended in
2011.
