It's no surprise that Randy Wood's sons also took up hockey. However, while older brother Tyler will be playing his
senior season at Brown in 16-17, Miles will be playing his first pro season.
He (Miles) has got a lot of skill and is a good skater. He's also got the size, and in the last few years, according to
reports, he's been learning to use it in both offensive and defensive situations.
Miles himself views his style (We'll call it) as versatile; he could be put in a top 6 role, but also doesn't mind being in a
support role. He had even been used (with success) on a checking line for the US team at the 2015 World Juniors
... Or let me sum it up this way: he's no different than Dad.
He had a good freshman year at BC, which lead to getting his entry level contract settled at the conclusion of it,
enabling him to get a game in with the Devils in the season finale against the Maple Leafs.
He did see a couple of games early in the season before being sent to Albany to allow room for Sergey Kalinin to
come off of IR. He ultimately made his return, though, and became a regular contributor.
