I had not been able to watch Quincey play a whole lot during his career. However, I did get to learn a little bit about
him when I had done fantasy hockey for a short time, about his offensive game in particular. (Although the last time he
put up 20 points in a season was in 2011-12, the season the Avalanche also traded him back to the Red Wings.)
He did pattern his game after Bill Berg, though. While an odd inspiration, particularly since Berg was a forward, he did
do the little things: battling along the board, bringing the lunch pail, etc. Summarily, Quincey's very similar to the
players that were already in camp when he joined them a week in. (I would even say that he's a lefty version of Ben
Lovejoy.) And that does include his skating ability, by the way.
When asked about choosing to sign with the Devils, besides saying that they fit his style, he also mentioned that his
father grew up in Parsippany.
