There's some good hockey genes in the Quenneville family. (No, Joel is NOT his father. Joel and Andre, John's
father, are cousins.) So it was of no surprise to hear that John was a hard worker and a smart player out there.
He did carve out a good junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings, with the 15-16 season, his final one, being
his best one, scoring 73 points and serving as an alternate captain.
In his first pro season, he's been a key cog in the Albany machine, playing well enough to earn a 2-game look in the
bigs in early December.
He's expected to be somewhat of a grinder type, from what I've read of Hockey's Future's analysis of him. He does
show patience in his game, though, looking for the good pass.
While the tools are there, they do say to expect him to be a mid-line player.
