Sure, Persson was drafted in 1987, but he would not come over to North America until 1995. All that time he was
playing over in his native Sweden as a solid top 6 man on the backline.
When he did come over, he immediately reported to the Albany River Rats. In fact, when he was in the organization,
that's where he spent the majority of his time.
The trade to the Blues was good for him, as he saw more games on the NHL level. He was never able to see a full
season with the Blues, though; injuries and assignment to the Worcester Ice Cats limited him to an average of around
40 games a season in St. Louis.
He moved on to the Ottawa Senators in 2000 and played there for parts of 2 seasons, again with injuries limiting his
