Lemieux knew how to make plays when he was a Canuck. As a Scout, his defensive game was put to the test, and what
resulted was the development into a reliable two-way player.
Unfortunately, management decided to take a different direction, and he would be shipped off to the Atlanta Flames just
after the season started. Then, he would be on the move again right after the trade, this time being relegated to the Nova
Scotia Voyageurs of the AHL.
The folowing season, he decided to give the WHA a try, joining the Calgary Cowboys. He would get traded midseason
to the Minnesota Fighting Saints; however, he refused to report to them and retired. Thus, the trade was void and Butch
Deadmarsh, whom the Cowboys were supposed to receive, stayed with the Saints.
