Regular Season Statistics with the Franchise
Stats in bold signifies team leader.
Johnston was as tough and competitive as they came. He was also a leader on the ice. That was something the young
defensive corps of the Scouts/Rockies needed to feed off of as they developed in those early days.

He got around, as well, although he had only played in 3 NHL systems. Yeah, he saw his fair share of AHL games in his
career. While in this system, though, he never saw a minor league game, although if Bep Guidolin had his way, he would
have been sent down early in the second season. (Upper management's refusal to demote Johnston lead to Guidolin's
resignation as coach.)

He would actually be released by the Rockies during the first season in Denver, and he caught on with the Maine
Nordiques from the North American Pro League to finish the season and his career.
