Stats in bold signifies team leader.
Fiddler had been a consistent player in his career: consistent defensive play mixed in with getting 20+ points in a
season. The stereotypical small player playing big. Clearly, he was in Jersey to help shore up (and maybe help guide
along) the bottom 6 players.
Plus he was a good faceoff man. Before him, only Travis Zajac was of any use on draws.
Like any other veteran, he could provide some leadership, as well. In his case, he was leaving a Dallas Stars team
where he was serving as an alternate captain.
I've also heard that he had a pretty good sense of humor. I was waiting to see if that showed up at the first need to
lighten the mood in the locker room. (Like during that huge losing streak in late November into December.) No
What wasn't funny, though, was that he struggled to get it going in New Jersey. Now he looks to turn it around for
the Predators as they make a push for a playoff spot.
