From all accounts from some friends, I've heard that Barch was, summarily speaking, even more useless than Cam
Janssen. (At least Janssen could stay off of IR.)

But Barch had surprised me. He actually had been getting in a few fights, plus throwing some hits around. It's one of
the reasons that Janssen was chosen to be sent to Albany when the need to open up a roster spot for Adam Henrique's
return from thumb surgery.

How long he was to maintain this remained to be seen, as he has been injury prone in his entire career with both Dallas
and Florida.

And here I was thinking that his pro-player tweet during the lockout was gonna burn him with Lou Lamoriello. All it
did was create a backlash among the fans rather than create sympathy.

From what I can tell, he hasn't announced his retirement yet. He just hasn't been under a player contract since 2014.
Currently, though, he is part of the player development staff for the Buffalo Sabres.
