Regular Season Statistics with the Franchise
In the Devils' "grand scheme" of things, it's hard to view Constantine as anything but a lame duck coach.

He's a good one, don't get me wrong. Strict as they came. His body of work with the Sharks, the

Penguins, and in the lower levels of hockey speaks for itself.

But look at the situation: Larry Robinson stepped down as coach of the Devils, Constantine stepped in

for the remainder of the year (which wasn't too bad of a record) and the playoffs, only for Pat Burns to
take the permanent job the following season.

Shitty thing to happen, I know.

To top it off, it played out to be his last job at the NHL level; he went on to coach the Everett Silvertips
of the WHL for 4 years, and followed that with a 3-year run with the Houston Aeros of the AHL.
He gave Europe a go with HC Ambri-Piotta in the Swiss A League for another 3 seasons before
returning to the Silvertips in 2013.
